Because I am running an earlier version of software the files came across kind of skewed. But by watching the videos and reviewing the instructions in the file I was able to put together the surfaces and model and write the program. This is my first attempt at a 3D part. I am loving all the support and the knowledge base from the CIC crew!
Took a while to dial in the settings. Recommend the Broinwood course if you’re struggling and impatient. I might have gotten there eventually, but that definitely sped it up. This was my first inlay with a TBN! Still have to let it settle before flattening it completely but was too excited to wait to share :D

As promised, I wanted to send along the professional photos of my completed WineCuterie LibationStation, along with some more detail about the build and the CIC tooling that helped bring it to life.
The WineCuterie started with a pretty simple idea: combine a wine carrier, serving station, and charcuterie board into one handcrafted piece. What it eventually became is considerably more involved—a multi-level hardwood serving station designed to carry a bottle and two glasses while also providing dedicated serving areas, removable cutting/charcuterie surfaces, integrated tools, and enough flexibility to accommodate different bottle sizes.
The build uses walnut, cherry, and maple, with the contrasting species intentionally carried throughout the piece rather than used simply as decoration. The base supports the bottle and stores the serving tools, while the upper tray provides two separate food-serving areas surrounding the bottle. Removable hardwood inserts can be lifted out for use and cleaning. Two wine glasses hang securely beneath the upper tray, and the center structure supports a hardwood carrying handle so the entire station can be moved as a single unit.
One design challenge was bottle size. Wine and similar bottles vary considerably in diameter, so I didn't want to build the entire piece around one specific bottle. The center bottle opening therefore accepts removable 1/4-inch hardwood reducer rings, allowing the same WineCuterie to securely accommodate multiple bottle diameters while keeping the presentation centered.
The project was produced with a combination of traditional woodworking and CNC machining, and four CIC cutters played different roles throughout the build.
For the upper serving trays, I used a machining technique I learned from Ryan at CIC. Rather than roughing the pockets first and trying to create the finished edge afterward, I ran the CIC point roundover bit first, establishing the finished perimeter and rounded profile while the surrounding material was still there to support the cut.
I followed that with the CIC Golden Girl downcut rougher to remove the bulk of the material inside the trays. That sequence worked extremely well. Golden Girl handled the heavy material removal efficiently while the downcut geometry helped preserve a clean upper edge in the hardwood.
I then finished the trays with the CIC 7/16" bowl bit, removing the remaining material and producing the smooth bottom-to-wall transition and rounded internal profile I wanted. The combination of roundover first, Golden Girl second, and bowl bit to finish produced the trays almost exactly the way I had envisioned them, and it's a process I expect to continue using on future builds.
That sequence was particularly satisfying because it was a technique I'd picked up directly from Ryan and then adapted to this project. Rather than simply choosing three cutters independently, each cutter performed a specific stage of the same machining strategy.
The CIC point roundover bit was also used elsewhere to soften and finish exposed edges and profiles. Because this is a piece people carry, serve from, and physically interact with, I didn't want hard CNC-cut edges. The roundover work gives the WineCuterie a much more finished, furniture-like feel and lets the walnut, cherry, and maple transitions flow together visually.
Finally, the CIC 1/8" Baby Boy upcut bit handled the smaller, more detailed machining where the larger cutters simply couldn't go. It was particularly useful for the tighter geometry and smaller components that required more precision.
There are a lot of individually machined pieces in this build, but one of my goals was for the finished product not to look like a collection of CNC parts. I wanted the machining to disappear into the woodworking. The CNC gave me the repeatability and precision I needed for the bottle openings, glass locations, serving recesses, removable pieces, and mating components, while the wood selection, joinery, shaping, sanding, and finish turned those components into one cohesive piece.
The result is something I call the WineCuterie LibationStation: part wine carrier, part charcuterie board, part serving station, and—judging by the reactions I've received so far—a pretty effective conversation piece.
This particular WineCuterie was built in my small New Hampshire shop, 3 Dogs Woodworking, and it's one of those projects that evolved quite a bit between the original idea and the finished piece. It's also a good example of why I enjoy CNC woodworking: the machine isn't replacing the woodworking; it's allowing me to build things that would be extremely difficult to reproduce accurately otherwise.
And, as promised, I've attached the professional photographs of the completed WineCuterie. They show both the overall piece and some close-up details of the machining, hardwood combinations, serving areas, removable components, bottle support, glass holders, and carrying structure.

I like this kit, the included vectric file worked just fine for me. I had one small issue (on one side of the big black HDPE the black cut away to show the white - on the other side it didn't). I didn't panic and reset the zero a bit lower and cut again and all was well. I'm sure some of Ryan's videos where he demonstrates he's not perfect but continues on after a glitch helped me. Overall, this was an easier project than I anticipated and HDPE is fun to work with.
Decided to go with a 30 deg carving bit for more detail and use a black epoxy inlay. Came out really nice. Thanks to CIC for a great project. Keep them coming!
I submitted a prior review for the 250th file and clock kit. I just have to brag a little bit because I submitted the clock to the Twin Falls County Fair and won First Place and Best of Class for Fair Theme Woodworking!

I love this BamX. I only wish they offered more choices and made the outside layers thicker. I have so many more ideas but I am limited because of the thickness of the outer layers. Even a reverse of the colors (light, dark, light).
I loaned a new Shapeoko 5.1 Pro CNC router to TekVenture Makerspace last winter, but only recently had time to start using it for some of my projects. One of the first has been thank you plaques for donors to Scouting America projects. I found that the BT275 - 3/4'' X 5/8" Bowl & Tray bit with - 1/4" Shank did a great job of making smooth, nicely shaped backgrounds for the artwork. The bit cuts very fast and very smooth. I usually do a light 320 grit sanding between bit changes to remove the faint path marks. But that is minimal. This bit saves a lot of time and make beautiful product.
It had a few blemishes voids in the wood I wanted to fill didn’t realize epoxy would spread so far with end grain didn’t care for that but other wise it turned out good
It cuts plastic like a hot knife through butter. I had to order one online in a pinch that was a dull dog and had to abandon the project when the CIC beast showed up! The next day.Note to future Greg when ordering bits order 2…

Worked like a dream. Very true to flat and having the ability to change cutters versus purchasing a whole new bit every time allows for years of use from this one purchase. Well worth the money!
I bought this, for one I needed a new flattening bit for my surface board and second it was cheaper than a drum sander. I need to sell a few more boards before getting that sander. This bit did an awesome job. I used it to flatten my cutting board and it left a great finish. I think I could have went straight to 120grit and skip 80. I didn’t, but sanding with the 80 was much faster than before. If you need a flattening bit this is a great bit. I’m using it in a makita router for a spindle.
This was my first kit. The files were perfect, the instruction video walk me through every step of the process The results came out better than expected. I just ordered two flag kits. Am very happy with the results of the maze.
I and my customers love the domino game set. However some customers have asked if I have cribbage boards.
So I added to the outside of both halves a cribbage board protected with acrylic.
