Start carving with confidence using the perfect 3-bit combo for smooth, detailed 3D projects. This set pairs the 1/32" and 1/16" tapered ball nose bits for crisp detail and clean finishes, with the Golden Boy roughing bit to remove material fast and protect your finishing tools. Rough it out, dial in the detail, and carve smarter!
All your products are great quality and a huge time saver when needing these large cutting boards.
This one is for a charity auction where my Wife volunteers. It will be interesting how much it brings them.
The flag kit worked flawlessly - it takes a long time for the final carve, but well worth it. I added the 250 year anniversary V carve to it as well. I took a different approach than Ryan and carved it first and then used a shellac in and around the v-carve and let it dry thoroughly. I then used acrylic paint and it dry thoroughly. I attached a 1/2 foam pad extension to my Festool sander and carefully sanded off the excess paint (take light passes so not to sand the carve detail away). I then top coated the whole flag using a satin acrylic spray.
Made both large and small. Still working to finish small one.
Two friends asked me to make the small ones for Veterans Day.
I have Shapoko Pro5 with 80kw water cooled spindle. Wish I could get a Carbide Create file that would allow me to make some settings changes to speed things up and make a quick finishing pass on the stars to get rid of the fuzzies.
Great kit! 2 down 2 to go with some more for gifts and a Rotary Fundraiser in January.
Using Carbide Create to cut board. The field lines went great. when doing the logos, the 30 deg bit was leaving taller lines in the center field and endzone logos. I changed the tool path in Carbide Motion to an Advanced V Carve and it took much less time and cut everything down to the max depth that was supposed be.
Although you cant see the feet, they are on this piece and they make the project look way classier and much more appealing. I’ve made literally hundreds of boards of all kinds and for years I've used the rubber feet with the stainless screws. Yes, they work and I’ll use them again on some projects but for these premium inlay project and epoxy boards, I’m sold on the upscale appearance of these.
The Golden Boy XL performed great. I needed a longer roughing bit to route out control cavities in guitar bodies, and extended flute length works really well. I was able to do a 2D adaptive strategy at full depth (in my case 30mm). Total time for the cavity was maybe 4min. Really impressed. I used the recommended speeds and feeds for a hobby CNC w/ spindle, at 15% optimal load. Wood was poplar. In harder woods I'll likely dial the optimal load back some, but time will tell. 100% recommended.
The kit arrived well package as usual. I can't be more happy with how this turned out. I made it for my friend's son as a gift. He loves this team. Thanks again for another great kit and product!
Loved the maze kit, was my first build ever from a kit, and it turned out perfect! I just gave the maze to my next door neighbor's granddaughter and she loves it! I have purchased and received 3 more maze kits and will be using them as Christmas presents. Thank you Ryan and all of CIC!

used the 1/16 to reach the areas that my 1/8 o-flute missed or left rounded. I'd never used a bit that small before, so i used really safe numbers for the speed/feeds. 13mm/sec, DoC:.4mm, plunge=3mm/sec
My first order with CIC after following along on YouTube. Love you guys. The process was smooth and the packaging is absolutely perfect. You can tell they take their time and ship it properly. This project came out perfect. It’s now on display / for sale in my shop at the United States Military Academy, West Point. Huge football following here for Army. I also have the large flag to do now, and I can’t wait to get that out on display.
This was a fun project to cut out on my new Shapeoko CNC, and was one of my first cuts from plans. I learned a great deal, and was inspired to buy two of your inlay kits to begin learning inlay creation and production. Thanks for all you do to support the CNC community.

Been woodworking for years but relatively new to CNCing. This project was a ton of fun. The kit was very good and complete, but the real benefit was the accompanying video which made this easier and a good learning project for a newbie. Looking forward to using this at my next tailgate!
I made a few adjustments to the file and everything turned out great. I can’t wait to create more versions of this product. Thanks CIC for offering such solid foundations for us to build upon.
